Site Consultant visits Jackson County
Jackson County had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Russ Ullinger of Foote Consulting located in Phoenix, last weekend for the Pure Michigan 400 Race at Michigan International Speedway. Mr. Ullinger was one of 12 consultants visiting Michigan, which was sponsored by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. During his stay, Mr. Ullinger enjoyed breakfast with area business leaders, received a tour of our community, which included a company tour at Automated Logistics Systems, and a visit to the Academy for Manufacturing Careers’ Machining U! Camp at the Jackson Area Career Center. Mr. Ullinger got a ‘taste’ of Jackson County by visiting one of Jackson’s award-winning coney island restaurants. Mr. Ullinger commented, “I had the pleasure of visiting the folks from The Enterprise Group of Jackson for a few days. Having never been to Michigan, I did not know what to expect and must say I was pleasantly surprised. Jackson is perfectly located for drawing a highly educated workforce for business, positioned perfectly between Lansing and Ann Arbor, home of Michigan State and the University of Michigan, respectively. The community is home to an impressive incubator, technical ‘hands on’ training programs for high school students and is entrepreneurial friendly.”
