Foote Consulting Group (FCG) and TranSystems Begin DC Analysis in Oregon
The Oregon Economic Development Association has commissioned FCG and partner TranSystems to conduct a distribution center (DC) analysis to determine the state’s competitive position for attracting retail distribution. Utilizing our proprietary logistics model, the analysis will first track freight costs to/from four regional locations in Oregon versus other Western competitors. The analysis will then tract other project costs including wages, fringe benefits, site costs, utilities, select taxes, and cost of living in order to assess true market position and to later help attract DC clients. FCG and TranSystems have worked with many DC clients including Wal-Mart; Staples; Fresh & Easy; and Luxottica, a global leader in eye care and eyewear.
Foote Consulting Group set to assist with the Strategic Plan for the Alamogordo, NM Area
The Otero County Economic Development Council has retained FCG to complete a new Strategic Plan for the region. The plan will include targeting, a community assessment, focus group review/training, and strategic recommendations.
FCG is excited about assisting this important military base community. These types of communities are excellent locations for select targets. One of our most successful site selection projects was the location of the ING Financial Services Center in Minot, ND near the Air Force base there. This has become one of ING’s most productive centers in part due to the high quality of workers coming from the base.
Foote Consulting Group (FCG) and Austin Consulting are assisting the new “Select Tennessee” Certified Sites Program
“Select Tennessee” is the newest state certified/shovel ready sites program. You can read more about “Select Tennessee” here: http://www.selecttennessee.com. FCG has partnered with Austin Consulting to help certify industrial sites across the state from a site selector’s viewpoint. It is well recognized that certified/shovel ready sites attract more site selection projects, and speed more projects to a successful conclusion. Applications are now being accepted under Phase 1 of the program.
